The last time I blogged I wrote about how happy I was about receiving our stationary color samples. The colors were really beautiful (and let's get real here - I ordered card stock samples that were metallic, aka glittery - naturally!) so we ordered a sample kit to print on. But....we didn't have a design yet.
I originally didn't care so much about the invitations, but of course I wanted something I liked (when you're paying a lot of money for something - you want to like it!). After searching through designs, and not finding anything that really even caught my eye at all, I decided to turn to Etsy. You can find graphic designers who will sell you a design for you to print however you wish.
I was searching through designs and found one by Ticklemeink (check her out, she's great) that not only fit our aesthetic, but our colors too (which we could have changed if they didn't fit). I worked on the wording and the fonts and the shades of the colors on the invite that I liked best. And they turned out....awesome! I never knew I would be so excited about the invites, but I am.
Birds, trees, hearts, red and blue....two different fonts, ridiculously complicated directions, and a tongue in cheek RSVP card never looked so good jumbled up together!
Now that we have the invites designed....we should probably work on getting those save the dates (I'm sorry but I refuse to use the abbreviation - STD - *shudders*) finished. I'll be doing a post about those soon!
